Location: LDAWE Office – 3640 Wells St., Cottage 6, Windsor, ON N9C 1T9

Posting Status: Part-time Contract – September 23, 2025 – January 23, 2026 (18 weeks)

Hours: 8 hours/week

Salary: $25

Details:

The Learning Disabilities Association of Windsor-Essex County seeks a compassionate and resourceful Youth Coach to support individuals navigating challenges related to executive functioning, education, employment, and life skills. This is a short-term contract position with the potential for extension, pending funding.

As a Youth Coach, you’ll provide individualized coaching to help youth (ages 17-29 ) develop self-awareness, build structure and routines, improve organization and time management, and reach personal, academic, and career goals. Regular supervision and team support are provided.

This is a contract position with potential for renewal based on funding availability.

Duties:

·        Work 1:1 with youth to achieve their goals

·        Support participants with goal setting and action planning for school, employment, and personal growth.

·        Help youth improve time management, organization and planning skills.

·        Offer practical tools for navigating transitions, overcoming barriers and building confidence.

·        Maintain accurate session notes and documentation.

·        Collaborate with other support staff and community partners as needed.

·        Other duties as assigned.

Required/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in social work, psychology, education, coaching or related fields;
  • Coaching certification or relevant training is an asset but not required.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring youth, preferably those with ADHD or learning disabilities;
  • Understanding of disabilities, including learning disabilities, ADHD, and ASD;
  • Understanding of disability & ADHD-informed approaches;
  • Knowledge of community resources related to education, employment and mental health;
  • Compassionate, non-judgemental, and strength-based approach;
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely, if needed;
  • Effective communication and active listening skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills.

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must have a satisfactory, up-to-date Police Clearance.

Today we offer several different programs and services to assist children, youth and adults with learning disabilities or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to reach their full potential.
