The Corporate Services Department – Information Technology Division is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills to deliver cyber security services, in this regular full time exempt role.

Reporting to the Manager, IT Security, you will support the City’s daily security operations and act as a key operational resource for detecting and mitigating cyber threats. You will analyze suspicious activity using a variety of tools, monitor alerts, respond to incidents, and remediate and recommend corrective action. You will provide security awareness training and work with other technical teams to assess and remediate vulnerabilities in IT systems. This includes desktops, servers, operating systems, networks, cloud services and security platforms. You will also participate in the acquisition and evaluation of security systems, develop recommended changes to security practices and procedures, and provide guidance to other departments.

You have a post-secondary diploma in a relevant Information Technology discipline, and at least three-five years of relevant experience in cyber security and security systems administration. Credentials related to cyber security (e.g. CISSP, CCSP, Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker) and working knowledge of NIST CSF and CIS Controls are preferred.

During the recruitment process, applicants will be requested to provide a current Police Information Check (PIC).

We offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package for this exempt position, including a compressed work schedule. The salary range is $92,712.00 - $109,056.00 annually (2024 rates). Salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity.
