Cloud Cybersecurity Operations Analyst
About the role
Opportunity for an experienced Cloud Cybersecurity Operations Analyst to lead cloud security operations within the insurance industry. Use CNAPP tools like Wiz and SecurityHub to secure cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure. Hybrid model with 3 days onsite in Markham. Strategic, hands-on role in a fast-paced environment.
What is in it for you:
- Salaried: $45-49 per hour.
- Incorporated Business Rate: $52-56 per hour.
- 6-month contract.
- Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
- Hybrid model: 3 days per week on-site, subject to change.
Responsibilities:
- Design and operate secure cloud security processes on AWS and Azure platforms.
- Integrate and manage CNAPP solutions (e.g., AWS SecurityHub, Lacework, Wiz, Orca Security) for visibility and protection across the cloud-native stack.
- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM), security controls, and incident response processes.
- Automate compliance and security checks using policy tools, scanners, and telemetry pipelines.
- Monitor and respond to cybersecurity incidents, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities in cloud environments.
- Collaborate with networking, engineering, and vulnerability management teams on key initiatives.
- Conduct regular threat modeling, risk analysis, and cloud cybersecurity assessments.
- Stay current with cloud cybersecurity trends, tools, and industry best practices.
What you will need to succeed:
- Cybersecurity-related degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in cloud operations with a focus on cybersecurity.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with CNAPP platforms and cloud security posture management (CSPM).
- Proficiency in scripting, automation, and API usage (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
- Cloud cybersecurity certifications (e.g., AWS Security, Azure Security, CCSP) are preferred.
- Experience with SIEM, SOAR, and threat detection tools in cloud environments is an asset.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture and built-in feature sets such as CloudTrail and S3.
- Experience in vulnerability management and incident response in cloud-native environments.
