As a Senior Software Engineer on the Path team, you’ll partner with stakeholders to translate business goals into engineering plans and execute them with a relentless focus on security, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Solve complex challenges in distributed systems: geo-replication, disaster recovery, data migration, and work distribution.
- Collaborate in an agile environment, interacting with major Office 365 teams to build cross-service integrations and leverage expertise in product features; partner with stakeholders and managers to drive workgroup project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Partner with Program Management to design, implement, test, and iterate features for 10x growth in usage.
- Ensure secure, high-quality product delivery, overseeing system architecture and code quality.
- Champion Live Site culture, ensuring reliability and customer delight and mentor engineers, shaping the vision for agentic AI-powered work management.
- Seek new knowledge, adapt to trends, and apply technical solutions and patterns to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance across products, driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
- Embody Microsoft’s culture and values in all aspects of work.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of full-stack experience developing distributed web service applications with highly concurrent server-side code.
- 3+ years experience with NOSQL databases and high volume / throughput web applications and their designs
- 3+ years experience with C++
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience creating, releasing, and evolving large commercial software components or products at scale.
- Experience collaborating across teams to deliver complete features and end-to-end customer experiences.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $114,400 - CAD $203,900 per year.
