Reference #40908 Waterdown, Ontario Responsibilities:
Provide project leadership and technical guidance for minor internally funded product developments utilizing the New Product Introduction (NPI) company standard process Coordinate, prepare-for and lead presentation of design stage gate packages Develop and maintain project risk registers including mitigation plans, drive closure of risk actions Responsible for providing project forecasts and maintaining adherence to project budgets and schedules Lead investigations into product failures and other deficiencies utilizing root cause analysis methodology Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement mitigations for reliability risks Ensure corrective actions are implemented and track effectiveness in preventing reoccurrence Use of JIRA and other project tools for Earn Value Management reporting Maintain project schedules to align with integrated master schedule milestones Lead project scrums, closely involved in material shortage and build meetings Understand and communicate cause and effect of changes affecting schedule, quality and cost Coordinate engineering changes and lead Enterprise Change Assessment (ECA) technical pillar through the change process Execute the department strategic goal alignment projects Understand and comply with the company Quality Management System Coordinate Engineering resources to support day-to-day factory requirements Effective communication with external department (SCM, PMO, OPS, CSG etc) Engineering Technical Lead for fielded product; support to PMO Represent Engineering at MRB’s, Obsolescence and Non-Conformance reviews
Desired Skills
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Project
Proficient technical communication skills, both written and verbal Effective project organization and planning skills Strong interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining and growing relationships with stakeholders Understanding of electro/mechanical/optical/video systems Knowledge/experience using Atlassian Confluence/JIRA Working knowledge of root cause analysis or reliability techniques (5 Why, Cause Map, 8D, FMEA) A sense of urgency; dynamic, resourceful, innovative and takes initiative Working knowledge of mechanical design, bill of material structures and mechanical design terminology Working knowledge of electrical circuit design, circuit board assemblies and electrical design terminology Working knowledge of feedback control systems, video standards, grounding/bonding practices and motors/potentiometers/encoders and other electro-mechanical devices Working knowledge of optical assemblies, cameras and laser devices is an asset Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Standard
Experience & Education Requirements
Must be eligible to meet requirements for Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related.
