About the role
Tridon Communications is seeking a skilled Radio Service Technician to join our team, working at our client’s site in Fort McMurray, AB. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in electronics, communications, or electrical engineering. As a key player on-site, you’ll work with radio and communication systems in a hands-on role that emphasizes safety, problem-solving, and technical expertise. This is a camp position with a fly in fly out, 7 on 7 off shift rotation with flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary, site provided accommodations.
About****You:

A diploma or degree in Electronics, Communications, or a related field.

Hands-on experience with electrical wiring and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Proficiency with hand and power tools.
-
Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills.

A can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety.
Must-Haves:
-
Education: 2-year diploma in Electronics/Communications or related field, or a 4-year degree in Electronics with relevant experience.

Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License with a clean driving record over the last 5 years.

Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing regularly.

Recreational trailer towing experience (fifth wheel or camper trailer).
-
Heavy construction or mining driving experience (preferred).
Nice-to-Haves:

Radio Programming & Diagnostics: Experience with basic diagnostic and radio programming.

Vehicle Installations: Previous experience installing portable audio or radio equipment in light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles.

Electrical Wiring: Familiarity with wiring codes and best practices.

Hands-on Tools & Test Equipment: Knowledge of hand and power tools, test equipment, and design/fabrication techniques.

Radio Equipment: Experience with Motorola and Kenwood portable radio equipment.
