Job Ad — Construction Crew Member

Build outdoor spaces that are straight, level, clean, and built to last. We’re hiring a Construction Crew Member for our Cavan / Peterborough service area. This is a hands-on field role for someone who likes building, working outdoors, using tools properly, and being part of a crew that takes pride in the finished product. Starting pay is $19–$23/hour, based on experience and fit. This is a seasonal role with potential for full-time year-round work with winter work. Is this you? You’ll work on landscape construction projects including decks, fences, patios, walkways, pergolas, gazebos, pool leveling, and other assigned construction work. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you do need to show up reliably, work safely, ask questions before guessing, and communicate early when something is unclear or off. The work You’ll work day-to-day with a Construction Crew Lead. Your job is to help turn the plan into completed field work. That includes: Building fences, patios, walkways, pergolas, gazebos, pool bases, hardscaping, and related outdoor projects Using hand tools, power tools, levels, string lines, compactors, saws, and other construction tools Preparing, staging, moving, cutting, fastening, compacting, leveling, cleaning, and finishing materials Keeping tools, materials, trailers, machines, and waste organized on site Taking required progress, issue, and completion photos Reporting safety concerns, damaged materials, missing tools, equipment issues, and customer requests early Helping leave each site clean, safe, and professional before the crew leaves What success looks like Planned hours are protected: you work efficiently and raise your hand early if weather, site conditions, tools, materials, or scope issues put the plan at risk. Safety comes first: you wear PPE, use tools and equipment properly, and stop or report unsafe work right away. Callbacks stay low: your work is careful, clean, straight, level, secure, and checked before moving on. Photos are completed: progress, issues, and finished work are documented so the office is not chasing answers later. Communication is honest and early: if something goes wrong, you say so quickly and help solve it. Experience and skills we’re looking for Experience in landscape construction, carpentry, hardscaping, fencing, decking, grading, pool-base preparation, equipment operation, or general construction is preferred. You should be comfortable or willing to learn: Measuring, cutting, leveling, grading, compacting, and fastening Safe use of hand tools and power tools Working around vehicles, trailers, compactors, and construction equipment Reading basic job instructions, photos, notes, and daily direction Working outdoors in changing weather Lifting and moving construction materials safely Keeping a jobsite clean and organized AR licensing is an asset, especially for operating equipment. You may be required to drive, tow a trailer, or operate machinery such as a mini-excavator, Dingo, or similar equipment when trained, authorized, and properly licensed.
