Full-Stack Software Engineer

Who you are
- 4–8 years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js in a production environment
- Proven experience designing and consuming REST APIs
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL (or other relational databases)
- Experience deploying and monitoring applications in AWS
- Comfortable contributing across both backend and frontend stacks

- As a Software Engineer at Burq, you will be joining a team of talented engineers working together to transform the way businesses offer on-demand & same-day delivery
- You will be part of an emerging team that is building a product to power millions of businesses with their delivery needs
- Build and scale Node.js/Express services that power our delivery platform
- Design and maintain RESTful APIs with a focus on scalability, authentication, and performance
- Work with PostgreSQL to design efficient schemas and optimize queries for large datasets
- Integrate message queues (SQS, Kafka, or similar) to support asynchronous processing and reliability
- Develop responsive, maintainable user interfaces using React and TypeScript
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate complex logistics workflows into simple, intuitive experiences
- Design and refine prompts for large language models to optimize route planning, order processing, and customer communications
- Integrate AI capabilities (e.g., AWS Bedrock) into existing workflows and services
- Experiment with AI-powered features to improve delivery efficiency, automation, and user experience
- Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities where AI/ML can solve logistics challenges at scale
- Deploy and manage services in AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, etc.)
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and observability tools to ensure reliability and scalability
- Own features end-to-end—from concept through production release
- Participate in code reviews, share best practices, and mentor other engineers
- Can put yourself in the shoes of your users and be a steward of crafting great experiences
