About the role
Adult Day Program Assistant**– Part Time**(2 days and 3 days / week)
Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes is seeking applications for a Casual Adult Day Program Assistant.
As an integral part of our Adult Day Program (ADP), the ADP Assistant will ensure the effective operation of adult programs, provide respite to caregivers, encourage and provide independence for clients with special needs by assisting with the coordination and organization of appropriate activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Support and assist in Day Program activities, daily running of the program based on client and program needs;
-
Assist clients with feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene as needed;
-
Assist clients with crafts, games and other activities;
-
Assist with on-site meal preparation and clean up;
-
Interact well and nurture the involvement of volunteers
-
Assist with record keeping to ensure compliance with funder and agency procedures;
-
Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, safe food handling and associated regulations
KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION***(abilities, skills, behaviours).***
- Post Secondary education in one or more of the following areas Recreation Therapy, Personal Support, Developmental Service Worker or Social Service Worker

Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with seniors, individuals with physical disabilities and/or individuals with cognitive impairments;
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-
An effective team collaborator
-
Current First Aid and CPR certification will be required
-
Safe Food Handling, Lifts & Transfers and Medication Management Training an asset
-
Valid Ontario Driver’s License and clean driving record

Successful applicants may be scheduled in one of our multiple locations throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes including Fenelon Falls, Lindsay and Bobcaygeon.
WAGE
The wage range for this exciting opportunity is**$19.15 to $20.94**. Selected candidates will be appropriately placed on the organizations wage grid based on skill, knowledge and experience.*
