About the Role:
We are seeking a Pension Education Specialist to enhance the pension experience for our participating members and employers through valuable education and support.
The Pension Education Specialist will be responsible for supporting the members and participating employer learning programs. The incumbent will work to enhance members and employers’ understanding of the features and value of the CAAT pension by delivering energetic and engaging learning sessions both online and off site.
As the Newest Member of our Team, You’ll:
- Educate and promote features of CAAT Pension Plan to members and participating employers.
- Promote the value of a defined benefit (DB) pension and retirement income.
- Ensure all presentation materials are up-to-date based on current information, rates, legislative and Plan requirements and create new content as required (i.e. speaking notes, videos, slides, and presentations).
- Promote, coordinate, and deliver member education sessions to members and participating employers through a variety of channels, including online or in-person at employer and/or union locations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate the development and delivery of member/employer presentation content, including existing sessions, and new sessions, keeping information up to date and providing updates and edits as applicable.
- Collect, summarize and report on informal and formal feedback from sessions to make recommendations for improvements and gauge effectiveness of promotional materials and marketing plans.
- Provide training, support and coaching for colleagues who deliver presentations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Plan provisions and be able to explain them simply and clearly.
To Succeed, You Bring:
- Post secondary education or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a multi-employer pension plan (MEPP) or public sector pension administration or an outsourcing service provider.
- Understanding of pension administration and working knowledge of pension plan policies and procedures.
- A strong understanding and awareness of emerging risks and challenges to the Plan and other public sector pension plans.
- Proficient with using PowerPoint and Excel.
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, a mathematical aptitude, excellent problem solving and time management skills.
- Excellent public speaking and written communication skills required. Ability to interact well with members and employers at different levels.
- Current driver’s licence valid in Ontario is required and a willingness to travel within Ontario and across Canada.
- Have or are actively pursuing CEBS, PPAC, CFP, or CBP designations is considered an asset.
- Experience in adult learning is considered an asset.
- Bilingual in French is considered an asset.
