Description Job Description: Cook (NOC 63200) Home of Charlene's Multi-Award Winning Famous Seafood Chowder. A great family dining experience with Cape Breton hospitality and wholesome dishes! At Charlene’s we are a TEAM who takes great pride in our culinary service and quality. We consider our staff multitaskers and help each other out no matter their hired position.
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Ensure food meets quality standards as set by manager
- Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
- Oversee kitchen operations
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
- Set up and oversee buffets
- Clean kitchen and work area, ensure kitchen is kept clean and sanitary
- Plan menus and daily specials
- Determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements, monitor food presentation and portion control
- Monitor stock and inventory and place orders through process determined by manager
- Train kitchen helpers in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
- Assist in creating and updating menu items
Job Details
- Wage: 17.00 – 19.00 per hour
- Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week
- Vacation pay: 4% bi-weekly
Requirements
- Reliable
- Team player
- Open scheduling availability
- Willingness to learn
- Own transportation and ability to travel to Whycocomagh
- 1 year experience cooking in fast-paced environment required
- Training or education in cooking an asset
