About the role
As a Recruitment Specialist, you will work collaboratively with Human Resources to manage the recruitment cycle for roles across fabrication, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and office departments. You will review resumes, conduct prescreens, and assess candidates for technical skills, safety awareness, and overall suitability. This role coordinates interviews, prepares materials for hiring managers, and provides candidates with clear instructions to ensure a positive experience. You will also use Dayforce extensively to progress candidates through recruitment workflows, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with established processes.
**Terms:**18 month contract with benefits
**Location:**Consolidated Drive, Paris, ON
**Dedicated Day Shift:**8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday
Job Duties
- Review and evaluate resumes for qualifications, technical skills, certifications, shift availability, and relevant industry experience.
- Assess candidates against role specific requirements across manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, quality, and office functions.
- Categorize applicants in the Dayforce based on suitability to maintain an organized talent pipeline.
- Conduct phone prescreens to validate skills, experience, safety awareness, communication ability, organizational fit, and compensation expectations.
- Identify potential concerns or inconsistencies in a candidate’s work history, such as unexplained employment gaps or experience that does not align with the role
- Document prescreen notes and candidate details accurately in Dayforce.
- Evaluate prescreen results and decide whether candidates move forward in the hiring process.
- Use Dayforce to send automated electronic interview details and provide candidates with essential site information such as parking, safety gear requirements, and check in instructions to reduce no shows
- Update candidate statuses in Dayforce to track progress to keep dashboards and metrics current to support audit readiness.
- Conduct recruitment outreach through job fairs, trade schools, and technical hiring events.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience recruiting skilled trades, technical, and other professional roles in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of recruitment best practices, employment legislation, and inclusive hiring principles
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Experience supporting high-volume or specialized technical recruitment is considered an asset
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of recruitment experience, with a strong focus on manufacturing and or engineering roles
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
