Job Description
This is what you'll be doing:
The Registered Dietitian (RD) establishes caring, therapeutic relationships with patients and their families to attain or maintain optimal functioning by providing diabetes assessment, recommendations and self-management support to the adult patient in obtaining their self-management goals. If certified under the Medical Directive, you will provide diabetes management as per the delegation of the endocrinologist.
The RD is an autonomous professional who works independently and interdependently as part of the interdisciplinary health care team. The RD practices according to the College of Dietitians of Ontario standards of practice in keeping with the policies, procedures and standards of Halton Healthcare.
Qualifications
This is what you'll need to do it:

Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
-
Certified Diabetes Educator required
-
Two (2) years of practical and related experience preferred
-
Pump certified an asset
-
Ability to learn, demonstrate competency, and perform applicable advanced diabetes-related nutrition assessment including Insulin Dose Adjustment and diabetic foot screening

Ability to adapt to a wide variety of patient populations and knowledge of cultural foods and diversity, required
-
Experience with facilitating group education sessions and workshops using adult learning principles preferred
-
Ability to speak another language would be preferred to best meet the needs of a diverse patient population
-
Proficiency in computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications, Novari, Meditech Expanse
-
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
-
Excellent organizational and time management skills
-
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, decision-making and conflict resolution skills
Additional Information
Hours: Monday to Friday; 7.5 hour shifts; Days & Afternoons; 0830-1630; 1100-1900; 1200-2000 (Hours are Subject to change based on operations needs)
Salary: $40.011 - $56.425 per hour
