About the role

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Branch Manager to join our team specializing in Service and Operation for our Mississauga branch, Ontario.

Job Summary:

Manages the day-to-day operations at a defined location; responsible for all functions and financial metrics in a group of branches in a specific business segment or small geography.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Drive Operational Excellence Across Branches : By managing Branch Managers and overseeing all branch functions, you'll ensure consistent performance, alignment with strategic goals, and operational efficiency across your span of control.
  • Deliver on Financial and Strategic Goals: You'll lead the development and execution of the Annual Operating Plan, ensuring branches meet profit and loss targets, asset utilization goals, and balanced scorecard metrics.
  • Lead Market and Business Growth Initiatives: Through market analysis and strategic planning, you'll identify growth opportunities, manage marketing and sales efforts, and cultivate new partnerships to expand Cummins’ footprint.
  • Champion Customer Satisfaction and Service Culture: You'll foster a customer-first mindset, using tools like Net Promoter Score and Lens of the Customer to measure and improve satisfaction, while building high-performing service teams.
  • Enhance Product and Service Quality : By managing warranty processes and analyzing recurring issues, you'll provide feedback that drives product improvements and reduces repair cycle times.
  • Ensure Compliance and Promote Safety: You'll oversee health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring branches pass audits and maintain a culture of corporate responsibility and employee well-being.
  • Develop and Empower Branch Leadership: Through coaching, development plans, and performance management, you'll build strong leadership pipelines and retain top talent within your branch network.
  • Integrate Regional and Global Business Insights: Your deep understanding of Cummins’ operations—locally and globally—will help align branch strategies with broader business unit goals, driving synergy and long-term success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong knowledge of the Greater Toronto area, competitors, and engine markets in which Cummins operates: Familiarity with the On-Highway / Powergen / Industrial markets is essential to understand customer needs, competitive dynamics, and service expectations.
  • Strong Financial Acumen: You must be able to interpret key financial indicators (e.g., profit/loss, asset metrics, scorecards) and use them to guide business decisions, optimize branch performance, and meet strategic goals.
  • Security and Regulatory Compliance : You’ll need to obtain and maintain a Reliability Status Security Clearance and a Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) license, ensuring compliance with national security and trade regulations.
  • Union Environment Experience: Proven ability to manage teams in a unionized setting, including collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations, conflict resolution, and fostering collaboration between labor and management.
  • Strategic Leadership & Team Building: You’ll be expected to build effective teams, drive engagement, and develop talent—creating a high-performance culture that aligns with Cummins’ values and goals.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: A strong customer focus is key—building lasting relationships, delivering tailored solutions, and improving satisfaction through service excellence and responsiveness.
  • Business Insight & Operational Strategy: You’ll need to apply broad business insight to align branch operations with market trends, customer expectations, and organizational priorities.
  • Clear and Adaptive Communication: Success depends on your ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences—from frontline employees to executive stakeholders—ensuring clarity, alignment, and motivation.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Leadership: You’ll champion a culture of safety and compliance, influencing behaviors and ensuring branches meet all HSE standards and audit requirements.
  • Service Network Optimization: Applying the Service Capability, Capacity and Coverage framework will help you ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across branches, backed by the right tools, parts, and talent. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree in required Business Administration, Engineering, or related subject required. Six Sigma Green Belt certification or Sponsor certification required. Experience: Significant relevant experience required, including managerial and budgetary experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical Knowledge of heavy equipment, and diesel engines will be an asset
  • This role requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain and hold a Reliability Status Security Clearance and a Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) license.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the role effectively.
  • Problem-solving methodologies and process improvement approaches, skills such as Six Sigma certification would be considered a strong asset if relevant to the role. I hope this helps support your hiring process within our current guidelines.
  • Experience managing in a Union environment a requirement, experience in bargaining union contracts (CBA) will be an asset

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
