Industry Leading Wage: $53.37 – $60.48h

Continuous Shift Premium: $3.50/h Night Shift Premium: $3.50/h *when applicable Continuous Shift: 14x14; extra scheduled weeks off per year Vacation and flex/sick time in year one!

75% Employer paid medical benefits 6% Voluntary Employee Share Purchase, earns 2% Finning match 6% Employer paid pension, plus additional match CAT certified training: Additional certifications and skill development paid for by Finning Job Description: Major Job Functions: Assist Welders with production and repairs of heavy duty equipment and/or related equipment in a timely manner Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled Assist with examining and diagnosis of machine defects, repair damage and cracks when necessary Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment Maintain safe work practices Other work assigned as required Qualifications & Experience: Must be a current 2nd or 3rd year Welder Apprentice Willing to work towards Welder Certification Successfully meet Finning’s educational and testing prerequisites. This includes: completion of grade 12 (not including a general equivalent diploma) Meet the requirements of article 5.02 of the Alberta Collective Agreement Previous fabrication and machining experience Individual will be highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment Ability to work well under pressure Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing will be necessary for successful candidacy Line boring experience will be considered an asset Important Details This position is based out of Mildred Lake Shop facility on a 14x14 continuous days/nights shift Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position.
