Job Summary:
In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. The Psychometrist administers and scores a wide variety of psychodiagnostic tests under the supervision of a Staff Psychologist.
Duties/Accountabilities:
1.Administers specified psychological tests to specified patients as requested by the Staff Psychologist.
2.Scores tests and submits results to the Psychologist.
3.Provides feedback to the Staff Psychologist on the patients’ behaviour and attitude during testing sessions.
4.Observes possible clinical indicators related to the diagnostic category of the patient and reports back to the Staff Psychologist.
5.Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology supplemented by recognized training and/ or experience in administering a wide variety of psychodiagnostic tests or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the hospital.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and to prioritize workload.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to children.
- Demonstrated ability to follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
