Security Guard - Part Time - Transit Terminal
Site Description: A busy public transit terminal serving local and regional bus routes. The facility includes indoor waiting areas, ticketing services, and passenger amenities. Security personnel are responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment, monitoring activity, assisting passengers, and responding to incidents with professionalism and strong customer service.
Position: Part Time Security Guard
Site: Welland Transit Terminal - 159 East Main St Welland
Hours: Monday to Friday (1930-2330 hrs)
Payrate: $18.35/hr.
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Internal Posting Date: October 28, 2025
Internal Closing Date: November 03, 2025
External Closing Date: November 03, 2025
Key Responsibilities:
- Being alert and observant while being outside, standing or walking for an extended period in all weather conditions (Rain, Snow, Excessive Heat & Cold…etc.)
- Always Maintain communications with fellow Security Guard/dispatchers, Cliental and Paladin Managerial Staff.
- Ensures all site staff adhere to all Paladin Security policies and procedures
- Ensures proper documentation is passed onto the Shift Leads/Dispatchers, client and Paladin leadership team
- Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
- Communicates any concerns/issues with Supervisor/Client Service Manager or the client
- Ability to work alone and be self-motivated
- Always Maintain the highest standard of security, being professional in attitude, appearance and application.
- Represent Paladin Security, Client and their respected customers in such a way as to enhance the quality, image and reputation of Client.
- Perform security duties in accordance with established procedures. Ensure they are being conducted within the limitations of any federal, provincial and municipal laws.
- Be observant and record all discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards/ concerns noted during patrols and take corrective action either informing the applicable department or handling it personally, whenever possible.
- Be courteous, and helpful in enforcing all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
- Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client.
- Respond immediately to any emergency and co-ordinate response accordingly based off established procedures.
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Previous one years experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
- Ability to walk/climb stairs throughout the premises for longer periods of time
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
