Company Description Brook Construction is a Newfoundland and Labrador based General Contractor who has a 35+ year history of successfully executed projects in the Commercial, Industrial, Heavy Civil and Marine Construction Industries. With offices in Western, Central, and Eastern Newfoundland, we are excited to be growing our team once again.
Over the past year, Brook Construction has been heavily engaged in one of Newfoundland’s largest ongoing construction developments. Well into construction, we are immediately seeking applicants to fill a position for Construction Surveyor at our Pine Cove Mine project.
This position is rotational, 14 days on, 7 off. Camp accommodations are provided.
Position responsibilities
- Precision surveying with robotic total station
- Uploading design/layout files and transferring collected data to/from controller
- Setting formwork, anchor bolts, embedments, and general construction support
- Verifying grades, top-of-concrete, collecting as-builts
- Interpret and apply information from technical drawings
- Layout and use survey control
- Maintain instrument and notify when supplies or repairs/maintenance is needed
- Basic CAD and software skills is an asset
- Lead / advise junior level surveyor
The successful candidate will posses the following attributes
- 5+ years experience in construction surveying
- Well-adept in use of total station for precision surveying
- Experience setting formwork, collecting as-built information, setting anchor bolts and embedments, troubleshooting errors
- Appropriate training from accredited institution
- Interpretation of complicated drawings, understanding broader scope
- Team player, positive attitude
- Equipped for high-paced work
- Self-starter, work independently
- Civil 3D drafting experience will be an asset
