About the role
Build Your Career at FCC Canada FCC Canada, in a 50/50 joint venture with Webuild Civil Works Inc., will deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line. This includes design, construction, supply, and operation of three kilometres of twin tunnels underneath Pape Avenue between the Gerrard tunnel portal and the Don Valley bridge, two underground stations (Pape and Cosburn), two tunnel portals, three emergency exitbuildings and a rail switch/crossover in the section of tunnel near Sammon Avenue. The Pape Station connection will interface with Toronto Transit Commission Line 2 subway and related works.
The project uses a Progressive Design-Build (PDB) model, allowing greater collaboration between the project owner and contractor.

Project Opportunity We are looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our FCC Canada team assigned to the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations Project.
This position is located in downtown Toronto, ON and requires a daily presence in the office and/or on the construction sites.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all documentation is properly formatted, reviewed, approved, and archived in accordance with company and client standards.
- Maintain organized and auditable files for all active and completed tenders.
- Ensure adherence to standardized estimating procedures and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
- Support data maintenance in estimating systems and historical cost databases.
- Support the preparation of estimate packages for procurement, including scope clarifications and quantity breakdowns.
- Validate pricing and scopes with the procurement team and recommend appropriate values to be carried in the estimate.
- Assist in evaluating procurement risks, lead times, and market conditions that may affect pricing.
- Ensure all assumptions, risks, and pricing details are well documented and communicated to delivery teams.
- Support the integration of risk management practices into the estimating process.
- Serve as the key liaison between the estimating team and clients, consultants, and internal departments (including Operations, Procurement, and Engineering).
- Coordinate inputs from various departments to ensure comprehensive, risk-informed, and competitive estimates.
Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in infrastructure estimating or coordination roles, ideally within civil, track, building, or transit projects.
- Experience with Hard Dollar or similar estimating software is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
- Strong knowledge of various construction contracts, including Cost Reimbursable, Target Price, and GMP.
- Familiarity with infrastructure and rail/transit industry environments is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building positive working relationships.
Job Requirements
- Ability to independently review and coordinate quantity take-offs and estimate packages.
- Facilitate timely and effective procurement support through coordination with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage and support the preparation of final estimate reviews and internal presentations.
