ELECTRICIAN 309A or 442A

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled ELECTRICIAN 309A or 442A to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our production and plant equipment. This role is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and automation systems while ensuring strict adherence to workplace safety standards. The successful candidate will work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow lockout/tagout procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard free work environment
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately
  • Ensure compliance with WHMIS, electrical codes, and workplace safety regulations

Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant and production equipment
  • Install, modify, inspect, and commission mechanical, electrical, and automation equipment
  • Ensure equipment is properly lubricated and adjusted according to maintenance schedules
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections to ensure quality output and detect potential failures
  • Make timely repairs and adjustments to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency

Electrical & Automation Systems

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control components
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Diagnose and resolve PLC and automation system issues
  • Perform minor PLC program adjustments when required
  • Support automation upgrades and reliability improvements

Planning, Documentation & Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and supervision to schedule maintenance effectively
  • Log maintenance activities, downtime, and incidents by the end of each shift
  • Report spare parts usage and support inventory accuracy, including physical counts
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide technical guidance and support during off shifts as required
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement process and equipment improvements
  • Support training initiatives related to equipment, electrical safety, and maintenance best practices
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Qualifications

  • Electrician 309A or 442A
  • Strong hands on experience with industrial electrical and mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and ladder logic troubleshooting
  • Experience with machining and fabrication, including lathes and milling machines
  • Ability to install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and electrical codes
