About the role
Participates with or without inmates in the preparation and assembly of meals by performing duties such as:
· Wash, peel, and cut of fruit and vegetable as prep schedule
· Cook or pan potatoes as per prep schedule
· Count, weigh and measure ingredients for assigned food production area
· Keep record of cook products in the food bank. Use FIFO method in moving out the food to tray assembly area
· Prepare and serves beverages
· Assist in production of special diets
· Prepare vegetable and desserts as per prep schedule
· Assemble sandwiches and salads
· Portion meal trays and special diet trays as per meal schedule
· Load, deliver, collect and unload meal service carts to the pods
· Strip down carts and trolleys and wash dishes/pots
· Maintain storage areas in a clean and orderly manner
· Work efficiently and handle all equipment and products safely
Performs any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management in a suitable timeframe.
Must be able to work weekends.
