Faculty/Department Faculty of Arts Unit Arts-Philosophy and Classics Employee Group CUPE 2419 CUPE 5791 Job Family N/A Category Student Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary
Tasks: In support of work meant to develop and share Indigenous methodologies with research teams focused on work on Indian Residential School archives, the research assistant will:

Take part directly in the work, with the supervisor (Dr. Jérôme Melançon) and knowledge keepers;
-
Take notes at meetings, summarize them, and prepare them so they can be shared with the public;
-
Undertake bibliographical research;
-
Prepare visual aids for presentations;
-
Work on archival documents (transcribe, summarize, analyze them);
-
Undergo training as necessary for these tasks.

Please note that this project deals with emotionally difficult subjects, and requires great discretion.
Position Requirements

Being a student at the University of Regina;
-
Being a strong writer in English;
-
Having a background in European/Canadian philosophy and/or in Indigenous philosophies;
-
Having personal connections to former students of residential schools is an asset;
-
Candidates will provide a cv as well as a letter of intent that explains how they meet these requirements and have the necessary skills to fulfill these tasks, including any courses that might apply.
