Data Analyst Intern
Cloud Data Platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks)
About the Internship
We are seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support our data and analytics initiatives across AWS and Azure cloud platforms. This role is ideal for a student eager to gain hands‑on experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and scalable analytics platforms, including Snowflake and/or Databricks.
You will work alongside experienced Software R&D team members on analyzing customer data and implementing ML algorithms to transform system and application data into actionable business insights, with opportunities to support machine learning model development and deployment.
Compensation & Role Details:
Expected Salary Range: The base hourly rate for this role is expected to be between $20–$23 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications.
Role Type: New Role

What You’ll Do
- Assist with ingesting, transforming, and validating data in cloud-based data lakes and warehouses
- Support ETL / ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, R, and/or Scala
- Work with Snowflake to build analytical tables and views
- Use Databricks (Spark / PySpark / SQL) for data processing and exploratory analysis
- Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business insights
- Assist with data preparation, feature engineering, and evaluation for ML use cases
- Support basic ML workflows such as batch inference, experiments, or model monitoring
- Monitor data pipelines, investigate issues, and document findings
- Follow best practices for data security, governance, and cloud access controls
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field
- Strong foundational knowledge of SQL
- Experience with Python for data analysis or scripting
- Understanding of core data concepts (tables, joins, aggregations, schemas)
- Introductory knowledge of machine learning concepts
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and ability to document work
Nice to Have
- Exposure to AWS (S3, Glue, Athena) or Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS)
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or Apache Spark
- Experience with notebooks (Jupyter), Git, or cloud-based data projects
- Interest in data engineering, analytics engineering, or ML engineering careers
