Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Geology Superintendent and working closely with the Technical Services Manager, you will support the leadership of the Geology Department, including Mine Site Exploration and Production. You will assist in ensuring geological best practices are followed in planning, organizing, and managing programs to define and extract mineral reserves/resources. You will also contribute to cost management and departmental planning, while upholding Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental standards.

  • Support the Geology Superintendent in managing the geology team, helping to coordinate workflow and workforce planning to maintain efficiency and productivity
  • Assist in proposing and recommending mine site exploration, conversion, and delineation drilling programs
  • Support the supervision of the production geology team responsible for grade control and reconciliation protocols, ensuring alignment with reserve and resource models
  • Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of departmental budgets (annual and life-of-mine)
  • Help ensure accurate and timely reporting of geology activities (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)
  • Assist in planning and overseeing mineral resource and reserve estimates in compliance with regulations
  • Participate in evaluating the mineral potential of acquisition and exploration projects, including risk and opportunity analysis
  • Contribute to technical studies (economic, pre-feasibility, feasibility) and coordinate with other disciplines
  • Provide technical support to operations and exploration teams as needed
  • Help assess and coordinate departmental training needs
  • Stay informed on new technologies and best practices in the mining industry
  • Promote and adhere to company standards and applicable government regulations

What You Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in underground and/or open pit mining, production, and exploration (narrow vein gold experience is an asset)
  • Progress toward meeting the qualifications of a Qualified Person under NI 43-101 is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and experience in a supervisory or mentoring capacity
  • Proficiency in geological modeling and resource estimation software (eg, DataMine, Leapfrog, Deswik)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
