Veterinary Assistant
Location: Edgemont Village, North Vancouver, British Columbia
Employment Type: Part time; 3 days a week, 24 hours

Highlands Animal Hospital is welcoming a Veterinary Assistant to join our team, in Edgemont Village - North Vancouver BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting Veterinarians and Technicians with various tasks and the treatment of pet patients
- Providing compassionate care duties, including feeding and walking patients
- Technical skills should include knowledge of patient care and restraint, client care, and surgical assisting
- General hospital maintenance, including cleaning kennels
- Enhance the client’s experience by coordinating between the clients and members of the medical team
- Excellent position for an individual interested in technician development.
Qualifications
- This is a part-time position (with health and dental benefits) at 24 hours, three days a week, will be an anchor for our Saturday operations working alongside our amazing Medical Director.
- Casual shifts are available across North Vancouver clinics (VCA Lynn Valley, VCA North Shore and home hospital, VCA Highlands) allowing flexibility to fill schedule to 40 hours across our network of hospitals.
- Exceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty with clients
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a dynamic and diverse team
- Compassion and a nurturing attitude when providing care to clients and patients
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful situations
- Positive outlook and enthusiasm for learning
- Initiative in carrying out assignments independently
- Previous veterinary education or certificate
Compensation: $17.85 to $25.00 per hour. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
