Job Title: IT Field Engineer (Dispatch – AV/Collaboration Installation)
Location: Ontario, L4W 4X7, Canada Job Type: Freelance / Contract / Dispatch (Onsite) Duration: 1-Day Assignment (Potential for Future Dispatches) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced IT Field Engineer to perform the onsite installation, configuration, and testing of Cisco collaboration and audiovisual (AV) equipment at a customer site. The engineer will be responsible for assembling display trolleys, installing displays and Cisco collaboration devices, completing functional testing, and ensuring the system is operational before project handover.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and install display trolleys with wheels. Install and securely mount 75" displays or Cisco collaboration boards. Install and configure Cisco collaboration devices, including Cisco Webex Board Pro 75 or Cisco Room Bar Pro. Install and configure Cisco Navigator touch controller. Install Cisco Table Microphone Pro. Connect USB-C and other required cables with proper cable management. Perform basic device configuration and firmware verification (if required). Conduct functional testing of audio, video, microphone, touchscreen, and presentation features. Verify connectivity and ensure all installed equipment is fully operational. Perform basic user verification and demonstrate functionality to the customer. Coordinate with the remote project team if additional configuration or troubleshooting is required. Take installation photos and complete service documentation. Follow customer site safety and security procedures. Close the service ticket with detailed work notes.
Required Skills
Experience installing Cisco collaboration solutions. Knowledge of Cisco Webex Board, Cisco Room Bar, and Cisco Navigator. Experience with AV equipment installation and display mounting. Hands-on experience assembling mobile display trolleys. Strong knowledge of HDMI, USB-C, audio/video cabling, and cable management. Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN connectivity). Experience performing onsite hardware installation and break-fix support. Ability to read installation guides and follow project documentation. Excellent troubleshooting and customer communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Cisco Collaboration endpoint installation experience. Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms. AV integration and conference room setup experience. Smart Hands and Data Center support experience. Basic rack-and-stack experience. Familiarity with enterprise IT environments.
Requirements
Minimum 2–3 years of onsite IT field support or AV installation experience. Experience with Cisco collaboration devices is highly preferred. Ability to work independently with remote technical guidance. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Own transportation to travel to the customer site. Ability to lift and safely handle large display equipment (with assistance where required).
Preferred Certifications
Cisco CCNA (Preferred) CompTIA A+ CompTIA Network+ CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) – Preferred ITIL Foundation (Preferred) Deliverables Equipment installed and assembled according to manufacturer guidelines. Devices configured and connected successfully. Audio, video, touchscreen, and presentation functions tested. Site cleaned after installation. Installation report, photos, and customer sign-off submitted. Service ticket updated and closed upon successful completion. This role is ideal for engineers with experience in Cisco Collaboration, AV installations, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Smart Hands, and enterprise onsite support.
