About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers, Contractors, and Clients to integrate building envelope systems with overall design.
- Conduct field inspections, performance testing, and assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, condition assessments, design milestones, and construction reviews.
- Lead design and development of walls, roofs, windows, and other building envelope components.
- Perform detailed analysis of thermal performance, moisture management, air infiltration, and structural integrity.
- Support tender specifications, drawings, QA/QC reviews, and construction administration.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team.
- Stay current with industry trends and support ongoing development of company's technical standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering (7+ years) or a diploma/certificate in Architectural/Engineering Technology (10+ years) in building envelope consulting.
- P.Eng or equivalent engineering stamp preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, construction methods, codes, and performance standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam (or similar), with familiarity in THERM, WUFI, scheduling programs, and 3D building modeling software preferred.
- Comfortable working at heights and on-site using ladders and swing stages.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and mentorship capabilities.
