Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Welding technology/welder. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hot. Noisy. Work setting: Assembly. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Weld or bolt sections together. Fit and weld parts together. Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
