About the role
Inventory Receiver is responsible for effectively performing a wide variety of activities related to the receipt, inspection, processing, storage, distribution and moving of all products and materials being delivered to and from the store. Reporting to the Inventory Manager., this position works directly with the Management team, Supervisory team and all department staff as well as Head Office support teams.
Work Performed
Produce Handling
- Receive and process delivery invoices
- Prepare and document outbound shipments
- Verify invoices and purchase orders to ensure accuracy
- Unpack / pack shipments and verify that their contents are correct
- Review contents to note any damage
- Perform follow-up procedures on orders and report damages, shortages and discrepancies
- Support and enforce daily procedures to ensure that work is completed efficiently
- Adhere to safety protocol with use of knives, equipment and PPE
System Utilization
- Effectively utilize CRS to receive products into store inventory
- Ensure adherence to the correct utilization of CNF systems
- Support the implementation of new systems as needed to ensure that products are handled effectively
- Maintain warehouse and storage area equipment in a neat, clean, orderly and safe manner
Qualifications
- High School diploma required
- 1-2 years retail experience
- High attention to detail, perceptive and attentive
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- High initiative, Trouble shooting and problem-solving mindset
- High EQ – developed ability to relate with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times
- Friendly, positive attitude and high energy
- High care for product integrity and proper product handling
- Strong organizational skills & Self-motivated
- Computer knowledge and technical aptitude
- Time management skills, High personal ethics and integrity
- Ability to work well under pressure & Dependability
Essential Job Functions
- Sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
- Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 60 pounds.
- Push and pull carts and skids weighing up to 300 pounds
- Safely build and move skids up to 2000 pounds
- Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
- Requirement to clearly see small detail on screen, paper and labels
