SALON ASSISTANT MANAGER
Job description
We are looking for an energetic, highly skilled, and motivated Salon Assistant Manager with a proven ability to drive service and retail sales while delivering an exceptional guest experience. With our First Choice Hair locations, you will be leading a team of very experienced and professional hair stylists in an environment that is passionate about quality and excellence in customer service.
You will also be able to celebrate your creative expression by continuing to provide clients with exceptional hair cutting and styling services. This position work allocation is 60% as a skilled Hairstylist and 40% as an Assistant Manager. You also must have a current valid Hairstylist Ontario License.

What are we looking for in a great salon manager?
- Five years of hair stylist and two years minimum of salon management experience
- Have a valid Ontario hair stylist license
- Proven skills and experience in Colour & Chemical Techniques (Please bring to the interview: a portfolio, Instagram account, certificates and/or photos demonstrating your colour work)
- Advanced computer skills to work with our POS systems and multiple other applications
- Ability to supervise, direct and coach 5-10 people
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Flexible, Reliable and Organized
- Willingness to adapt to salon needs, take initiative to problem solve and drive salon performance and growth
- Dedication to great customer service
- Team player
- Live in close proximity to the salon (Scarborough, ON)
What would you be doing?
- Adhere to and enforce the First Choice Hair 4-Step Brand Standard for Service Excellence and defined salon processes/procedures (cleanliness standards, health and safety etc.)
- Meet personal and salon targets (Service & Retail)
- Meet financial performance goals
- Provide client consultations with recommendations on styles, services and products
- Offer exceptional customer service to our guests during their hair appointments
- Address customer complaints or concerns
- Plan, manage and control inventory
- Implement marketing strategies and campaigns (including social media)
- Establish and implement policies and procedures for staff
- Coach staff on achieving customer service and performance goals
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
- Respond to inquiries and resolve problems
