Switchgear Application Specialist
About the role
The Opportunity Our client is a respected manufacturer and solutions provider within the power generation and electrical infrastructure sector. They are seeking a Switchgear Application Specialist to serve as the SME for switchgear products, supporting field service teams, customers, and internal engineering functions.
Key Responsibilities Provide technical support for low and medium voltage switchgear systems. Assist field service teams with commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and diagnostics. Support customers remotely and on-site, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues. Develop and review Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation for site projects and system modifications. Collaborate with engineering teams regarding product improvements, upgrades, software updates, and service-related technical matters. Deliver technical training programs for customers and internal teams. Maintain accurate records of troubleshooting activities and service findings. Support cross-functional departments including technical support, service coordination, and customer operations.
What We're Looking For Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear systems. Experience supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities in industrial or power generation environments. Ability to analyse technical issues methodically and provide practical solutions. Familiarity with electrical schematics, control systems, and power distribution equipment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information to a variety of audiences. Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
