We’re looking for our next Procurement Strategy & Innovation Lead. Could It Be You?

We are undergoing a comprehensive overhaul of our Procurement & Vendor Management Office (PVMO) and are seeking a highly analytical, tech-savvy transformation lead to support this critical initiative. In this role, you will serve as the engine driving our process modernization.

You will not just be documenting processes; you will be redesigning them. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker who thrives at the intersection of project management, business analysis, and emerging technologies (AI, automation). You will listen to our stakeholders, map out the chaos, and design streamlined, automated solutions to make our procurement lifecycle efficient, transparent, and scalable.

Towards the end of the process modernization project, you will transition to wearing two hats. First, you will be our subject matter expert for our newly redesigned, and modernized, processes and procedures, while continuing to seek innovation and optimization opportunities in our end-to-end PVMO workflows. Second, you will contribute as a member of the PVMO team. Your contributions to day-to-day PVMO tasks will include (i) leading and executing complex procurement processes, including negotiating new goods and services agreements, onboarding critical vendors, and managing strategic renewals; as well as (ii) overseeing vendor data integrity, driving advanced due diligence, developing comprehensive reporting, coordinating complex vendor reviews, and ensuring robust compliance with vendor management policies.

In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Enterprise Procurement Strategy, Counsel and the Manager, Vendor Management to continuously improve the PVMO team, its processes, and the service it delivers to QFG. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive strategic value, efficiency, and transparency across the vendor lifecycle.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process Mapping & System Design: Evaluate current-state procurement and vendor management workflows, identifying bottlenecks and areas for optimization. Design and map future-state processes. Master the team’s process to understand pain points and areas we’re succeeding.
  • Stakeholder Synthesis: Conduct interviews and workshops with various stakeholders to gather requirements. Translate large amounts of complex, sometimes conflicting feedback into clear, actionable system solutions.
  • Technology & AI Implementation: Leverage emerging AI tools (like Gemini) and automation platforms to eliminate manual data entry, optimize vendor communication, and streamline approvals.
  • Project Management: Drive the overhaul project forward. Build out project plans, track milestones, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables are met on schedule. Familiarity with ClickUp is an asset.
  • Software Adoption & Integration: Rapidly learn and evaluate new procurement software, acting as the technical bridge between the project lead, the software vendors, and our internal team.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: You will continuously seek opportunities to innovate and optimize the PVMO workflows to improve service delivery for the broad range of internal clients the PVMO serves.
  • Work with and support a team of Procurement & Vendor Management Analysts to execute each stage of the vendor lifecycle including purchasing and sourcing of goods and services, vendor discovery and demo processes, agreement management, commercial negotiation, renewal, offboarding, and mid-term changes.
  • Work closely with the legal department to negotiate terms and conditions of and execute Master Service Agreements, EULAs, Statements of Work, Change orders and service requests, including coordination of documents between legal and vendor, obtaining internal feedback on contractual terms when required, execution of contracts both internal and external.
  • Work closely with the key stakeholders in various business entities to understand the project pipeline, product roadmap, and key initiatives to assess upcoming needs for new or current vendor services.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of QFG’s service offerings, the relationships and dependency with vendors for existing business models and data flows in the business.

So are YOU our next Procurement Strategy & Innovation Lead? You are if you have…

  • Proven experience in business process planning, mapping, and system design, as well as project management.
  • A strong passion for and proven ability in automating workflows. You are comfortable experimenting with AI (e.g., Gemini) to solve business problems and can learn new software platforms at lightning speed.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multifaceted projects. Hands-on experience with ClickUp is preferred.
  • The ability to synthesize vast amounts of qualitative data (stakeholder needs) into quantitative, logical system rules.
  • You catch the edge cases, the broken links, and the process gaps that others miss.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you can explain complex technical or process changes to non-technical team members gently but firmly.
  • Previous experience specifically within Procurement or Vendor Management in the tech, fintech, or financial services space is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with building no-code/low-code automations (e.g., Zapier) is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in navigating changing stakeholder landscapes and delivering forward-looking solutions to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Strong knowledge and ability in both Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Strong interest in AI as an enabling tool in the workplace and personal life.
  • Prior experience in Procurement or Vendor Management roles is an asset.
  • Experience using third party risk management software, such as OneTrust, to conduct due diligence assessments and other activities is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of vendor risk, compliance, and performance metrics, with specialized knowledge of financial services compliance and risk factors is an asset.
  • Proficiency in implementing vendor lifecycle technologies and processes is an asset.

Compensation Information:

  • Base salary range: $95,000 - $110,000
