About the role

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE TEACHER- ACCESS CLEGHORN

We are looking for licensed practical nurse teachers for our Adult education department, located at Access Cleghorn, 163 Cleghorn Street, Saint-Lambert.

NATURE OF THE WORK

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and hands-on training to the adult students enrolled in the Health, Assistance, and Nursing program in the vocational training program at ACCESS Cleghorn. The role involves facilitating classroom lectures, laboratory practices, and supervising students during stage placements in hospitals. The teacher will be required to help students develop the technical, interpersonal, and professional skills necessary to excel in the nursing field while ensuring that they meet the standards set by the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport du Québec.

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct classroom lectures to provide theoretical knowledge on health assistance and nursing.
  • Supervise laboratory practices to ensure students can apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
  • Oversee and guide students during their stage placements in hospitals, ensuring that students adhere to industry standards and regulations.
  • Evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning and professional development.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with the ACCESS Cleghorn educational team to ensure curriculum alignment and continuous improvement of the program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good standing with the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ) or the Quebec Interprofessional Order of Nurses (QIIQ).
  • A valid nursing permit is required, as the instructor will be expected to supervise students during their stage placements in hospitals.
  • At least 2 years of field experience in nursing, with a focus on practical patient care.
  • Previous teaching experience in a healthcare or vocational education setting is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.

SCHEDULE: This is an in-person position with a fixed schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
