About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About the Opportunity
Mount Milligan Mine is seeking a Recreation Management student for a four-month applied learning term. The successful candidate will assess current camp recreation, engage employees through focus groups, and design a sustainable program supporting wellness and community.
Key Responsibilities:

Assess current recreation amenities and participation levels; identify gaps tied to engagement drivers.

Facilitate employee focus groups across departments and rotations to gather input on culture, empowerment, and work-life balance.

Develop a long-term recreation program that supports mental wellness, stress management, social connection, and overall camp community.
About You
-
Currently enrolled in a Recreation Management or related program.

Strong communication and facilitation skills.

Comfort working and living in a remote camp environment.

Creative, independent, and interested in wellness and community-building.
Working Conditions
- Camp-based role working 12-hour days on a 7 day on/7 day off or 14 day on/14 day off rotation, with accommodations provided during rotation.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required.
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
- Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
