About the role

Make a Difference Every Day — Join Our Team!

At CLGW, our work is rooted in purpose, compassion, and community. Every day, we support over 900 individuals with developmental disabilities to live meaningful lives across Guelph and Wellington County — and we’re growing.

We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Direct Support Supervisor to join our team in a temporary full-time role for 1 year.

If you believe in person-centered care, value collaboration, and want your work to have a lasting impact, this is an opportunity to be part of something bigger.

Are you a passionate leader committed to making a difference in the lives of others? Do you thrive in fast-paced, team-based environments, and have a knack for coaching and collaboration? If so, you might be the perfect fit for the temporary Direct Support Supervisor role with us.

As a Direct Support Supervisor, you’ll play a central role ensuring that the people we support (PWS) receive the highest standard of person-centred care. You’ll lead and mentor our frontline Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), guiding them to deliver personalized service that reflects each individual’s goals, preferences, and aspirations. You’ll be the link between staff development, high-quality support, and the day-to-day progress that truly matters to the people we serve.

About Us:

CLGW is a progressive, person-centred organization committed to promoting inclusion, dignity, and independence for people with developmental disabilities. Our strategic priority of Service Excellence means we strive to continuously improve and deliver high-quality, individualized support for every person we serve.

At CLGW, we take pride in the work that we do. You will be joining a team of dedicated and experienced professionals, who truly make a difference in the lives of others. Together, we provide support for over 900 people who have a developmental disability, and who live, work and play in Guelph and Wellington County.

Why Join Us?

  • Be at the heart of a mission-driven organization making a real difference.
  • Work directly with inspiring leaders who value your input and expertise.
  • Tackle diverse, challenging projects that will keep you growing.
  • Collaborative, supportive, and respectful organizational culture.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll wear a lot of hats – coach, mentor, advocate, collaborator, and problem-solver. From scheduling and performance management, to training new staff and championing ongoing professional development, you’ll oversee the daily operations that empower DSPs to give their best.

A big part of your role will be integrating the Personal Outcome Measures (POMs) tool into everyday practice. Working closely with your team, you’ll ensure that each person’s support is guided by their own vision for a meaningful life. You’ll build a culture of teamwork, open communication, and accountability, while fostering respect and inclusion at every turn.

Collaboration is key here – not only will you work with other supervisors and departments, you’ll also engage with community partners, ensuring that services are consistent, progressive, and always centred on the people we support.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support Direct Support Professionals to deliver high-quality, individualized care
  • Manage scheduling, attendance, and performance evaluations
  • Oversee onboarding, initial and ongoing training, and professional growth opportunities
  • Champion the use of Personal Outcome Measures for person-centred support
  • Embody and promote our mission, values, and commitment to inclusion
  • Facilitate open communication, respectful dialogue, and teamwork
  • Collaborate across departments and with community partners to drive service excellence
  • Monitor and review key elements of the Individual Support Plan (ISP) as related to direct supports

What You’ll Need:

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field of study

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment (or equivalent blend of education and experience)

  • Working knowledge of O.H.S.A., AODA, ESA, and SSPDDA requirements

  • Advanced computer and database skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, and e-mail

  • Stellar organizational skills, documentation habits, and procedural knowledge

  • A reliable vehicle, valid driving license, and up-to-date insurance (travel between locations may be required)

Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

CLGW is committed to building an inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including but not limited to Indigenous peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and those with lived experience.

We believe that diverse perspectives strengthen our organization and enhance the quality of support we provide.

Accessibility & Accommodations

CLGW is committed to providing accessible employment practices in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). If you require accommodation at any stage of the recruitment or selection process, please let us know. We will work with you to meet your needs in a respectful and timely manner.
