Recruitment Specialist
About the role
The Recruitment Specialist partners with operational leaders to support the recruitment of high-quality candidates across Covenant Health. This role is responsible for a range of end-to-end recruitment activities, including screening applications, conducting interviews and reference checks, and recommending candidates for hire. The Specialist collaborates closely with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment strategies for hard-to-fill roles and proactively sources candidates through student engagement, career fairs, and other outreach initiatives. They contribute to the creation and refinement of recruitment tools such as interview guides, reference check templates, and related resources. In addition to supporting day-to-day recruitment, the Recruitment Specialist plays a key role in educating and advising leaders on best practices, processes, and policy interpretation. They also collaborate with other Human Resources teams on matters related to collective agreements, selection processes, and hiring outcomes. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a recognized Human Resources Diploma program. (Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered). Minimum two years of full time equivalency within the last 5 years of recruitment experience in a large organization with high-volume recruitment. Experience with recruitment management systems, candidate management system, Microsoft Office Suite, and recruitment templates and tools development.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including various levels of stakeholders from across the organization. Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in a co-operative, respectful, and sensitive manner with a high level of professionalism. Demonstrated excellence in customer service and continuous process improvement. Must be able to prioritize in a fast-paced and demanding environment, while exercising sound judgement, maintaining discretion, critical thinking and ensuring accuracy of information. Knowledge of collective agreements and related legislation (e.g., Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field. Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR). Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation. Experience working in a unionized health care setting preferred. Experience using Taleo, PeopleSoft, and RedCap.
