Configuration Management Lead (Permanent) Halifax, NS Expected Salary $67,021 to $83,776

To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the configuration-management infrastructure for a large program to meet customer obligations.
  • Support the resolution of configuration management issues related to the management of data in the PDM Vault and other data repositories.
  • Provide status on problem report resolutions using the Corporate Governance Risk (CGR) tool and report on KPI’s.
  • Propose improvements to the existing problem reporting system and ensure the data being generated will be conducive for transfer into future enterprise tools, such as IFS and Auxilium.
  • Work with the problem report tool OEM to implement improvements to the tool.
  • Propose methods to close existing configuration process gaps.
  • Ability to identify risks and work with other leads in Configuration Management to resolve impacts to configuration and other departments (internal and external).
  • Lead team members in supporting configuration data change traffic during submarine work-periods.
  • Support the team in identifying and closing gaps through impact assessments (IAs).
  • Work directly with Engineering and other internal stakeholders to ensure the required interface support is in place to meet program obligations.
  • Work with other leads in Configuration Management towards the resolution of common configuration issues.
  • Support other leads in aligning existing Babcock processes with the integration of global processes.
  • Flag significant issues to management when they occur.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Post-secondary education (credentials in a technical field considered an asset).
  • 4+ years’ relevant experience in configuration and/or information management, product lifecycle management, and/or change and audit control, with preferably 2+ years’ experience embedded in (or working closely with) for a Naval or Aerospace program.
  • Experience with the application of a formal configuration management standard (e.g. EIA-649C), or equivalent certification, an asset.
  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) as part of regular tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience in problem reporting and tracking key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Experience successfully leading projects and demonstrated strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor other team members.
  • Technical knowledge to interpretate material technical data.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
