Schedule: Flexible — Day, Evening, Night & Weekend Shifts Available
Pay Rate: CA$18.00 - CA$25.00/hr (Hourly)
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 3-6 Month Contract (Possible Extension)
Overview MediFlex Talent Solutions is seeking compassionate and reliable Health Care Aides (HCAs) and Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to support partner facilities across Winnipeg and surrounding Manitoba communities.
This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in long-term care (LTC), assisted living, home care, supportive housing, and hospital support settings . With flexible scheduling, competitive agency wages, and ongoing contract opportunities, this position is ideal for candidates looking for stability, supplemental income, or diverse clinical experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide personal care: bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming
- Assist with mobility and transfers using mechanical lifts (Hoyer, sit-to-stand)
- Support feeding, hydration, and meal assistance
- Deliver companionship, emotional support, and resident engagement
- Document and report changes in resident condition
- Assist with light housekeeping: laundry, cleaning, meal prep
- Follow individualized care plans and maintain resident dignity and safety
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility standards
Requirements
- Valid Health Care Aide (HCA) certificate OR PSW certificate from an accredited Canadian program
- Minimum 6 months recent experience in LTC, home care, assisted living, or hospital support
- Legally eligible to work in Canada (PR, Citizen, Open Work Permit)
- Updated TB test and complete immunization record (MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hep B)
- Current CPR/First Aid (Level C)
- Criminal Record Check + Vulnerable Sector Check (or willing to obtain)
- Ability to work 2-3 shifts per week minimum
- Willingness to work day/evening/night shifts as required
- Strong English communication skills for documentation and resident care
Nice to Have
- 1+ years of experience as an HCA/PSW
- Experience in long-term care (LTC)
- Experience with dementia care or behavioural support
- Training or experience with mechanical lifts (Hoyer, sit-to-stand)
- Experience working in hospital or WRHA settings
- Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
- Ability to work short-notice or last-minute shifts
- Fully vaccinated or double-vaccinated
- Additional certifications (Medication Assistant, Palliative Care, NVCI)
- Documentation skills & familiarity with electronic charting systems
