Position Overview
We are looking for a Quality Control Inspector to ensure products and assemblies meet customer, contractual, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role supports manufacturing and production operations by planning and performing inspections, documenting and managing nonconformances, participating in root cause investigations, and contributing to corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain inspection plans based on product requirements and risk Perform in-process and final inspections of products and assemblies Inspect electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards, and wire harnesses for conformance to specifications Interpret drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and test reports to verify compliance Document, track, and help manage nonconformances in accordance with established processes Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to product and process issues Analyze inspection results and trends to identify quality risks and improvement opportunities Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Project Management, and Quality teams to resolve quality concerns Provide guidance and training to production personnel and junior inspectors as needed Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits, as well as continuous improvement initiatives Perform other duties as required within the scope of the role Apply critical thinking to identify discrepancies, assess impact on quality, evaluate inspection results, and support development of effective solutions Document escapes or deviations, participate in investigations, and contribute to corrective actions independently and within cross-functional teams
Qualifications
Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or manufacturing within an electronics manufacturing environment Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated industries such as AS9100 is an asset Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes including PCB assembly, cable and wire harness fabrication, and electro-mechanical assemblies Proficiency inspecting to IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and test reports Working knowledge of quality management systems such as AS9100 and ISO 9001 Experience with nonconformance reporting processes and systems Practical experience with root cause analysis methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and corrective action processes Familiarity with inspection tools, measurement equipment, and verification techniques Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and workmanship Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and highlight risks or improvement opportunities Effective communication skills with the ability to document findings and explain technical information clearly Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams Ability to coach and provide guidance to production personnel and junior inspectors
Additional Requirements
IPC certification in IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 is an asset Internal auditor training or experience is an asset Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is an asset Experience supporting customer or regulatory audits is an asset
