About the role
Lotus Group is proud to partner with our valued client, a well-established residential HVAC company based in Edmonton, to identify an experienced and motivated Service Manager.
Reporting to ownership, the successful candidate will oversee HVAC operations, manage technicians, and ensure a high standard of customer service, safety, and efficiency. This unique role combines hands-on field service with time dedicated to training, coaching, and developing other technicians. The Service Manager not only helps clients feel confident, informed, and in control, but will also shape the future of the team by supporting and mentoring apprentices and experienced techs alike.

Role Responsibilities
- Lead and empower a high-performing HVAC service team through effective hiring, training, performance feedback, and mentorship
- Oversee and perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services for residential HVAC systems, ensuring high-quality workmanship
- Communicate clear repair or replacement options to customers, resolving concerns promptly and maintaining exceptional satisfaction
- Demonstrate respect for client homes and deliver service that consistently exceeds expectations
- Utilize ServiceTitan and Google Suite to maintain accurate service records, track team performance, and drive continuous improvement
- Monitor, analyze, and enhance service delivery metrics to achieve company and customer satisfaction goals
- Balance fieldwork and management leadership, dedicating time to both technical service and team accountability.
- Coach and develop apprentices and technicians in troubleshooting, cross-selling, safety, and professional communication
- Manage inventory and parts availability to ensure efficient service operations and minimal downtime
- Enforce and adhere to safety regulations, industry codes, and company standards at all times
- Participate in operational meetings and contribute insights to align team goals with business objectives
- Lead with emotional intelligence, fostering motivation, accountability, and a positive team culture
- Navigate challenging conversations with professionalism and composure, keeping the team focused, solution-oriented, and engaged
Role Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of residential HVAC service experience
- Strong aptitude and experience in offering clients value-added service, adding products and services to jobs, while on site.
- Understanding the value of memberships for clients and signing them up.
- Proven experience as a Service Manager or in a similar leadership role within the HVAC industry
- Strong technical knowledge of residential HVAC systems, diagnostics, and maintenance practices
- Completion of HVAC Training Program or apprenticeship. Journeyman Refrigeration/Gas tickets preferred
- Valid drivers license with clean driver's abstract required
- Clear criminal record check required
- Must provide own hand tools and safety boots
- Ability to work extended hours as required and participate in a rotational on-call schedule
- Experience with Service Titan or similar software
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation with problem-solving abilities
- Skilled at troubleshooting and explaining the why in simple, clear terms
- Passionate about teaching, coaching, and growing others
- Tech-savvy with tablets, software, and notes
- Proud of quality, ethics, and craftsmanship
- Demonstrate high emotional intelligence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
