The Opportunity We are currently seeking an Analyst, Center for Material Disposal (CMD), to join our CMD (Central Material Disposal ) Team working on site in Thompson, Manitoba . This is a permanent position.
As an Analyst, CMD you will be responsible for making improvements, recommendations, problem solving, planning and prioritizing work with specific deadlines, coordinating tasks and activates with other departments, and managing CMD inventories within the Thompson Operations
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Oversee and manage all CMD materials entering and leaving the facility, following prescribed processes and procedures, and ensure proper storage of all materials.
- Maintain safety and regulatory compliance in the receipt and storage of materials, protecting both the integrity of items and storage facilities.
- Administer CMD material inventories through systems such as SAP, including creating lots for sale or disposal as needed.
- Escort clients on site to facilitate safe viewing, pickup, and delivery of materials within Vale property.
- Collaborate with operations to identify obsolete spare parts and equipment that can be sold as assets or scrap, and work with the commercial division and external stakeholders to maximize value.
- Represent the CMD in the sale of scrap or obsolete materials and maintain confidentiality on all Vale transactions.
About You Education:
- College Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- One year of comparable experience in a similar area
Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in negotiation and collaboration, with proven ability to gain consensus among stakeholders.
- Background in equipment or maintenance operations.
- Strong understanding of operational processes and maintenance systems.
- Ability to effectively support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced industrial environment.
