Position Summary

The Coordinator, Job Action Club (JAC-T) will oversee the delivery of targeted employment support for low-income individuals who are unemployed or underemployed in Toronto. This role includes supervising one staff member (Facilitator/Coach) while maintaining a personal caseload of clients. The Coordinator will lead program coordination, staff mentorship, service quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the program meets Achēv’s standards and aligns with funder expectations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a dynamic, client-centered environment that supports both job seekers and staff in achieving employment outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic planning and cross-site collaboration, with potential to support broader operational initiatives as the program evolves. The role is primarily based out of Achēv’s Toronto locations, with travel across the GTA required to support client service and internal coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to the Job Action Club Facilitator/Coach
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes motivation, accountability, and client success
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions, performance reviews, and professional development planning
  • Ensure staff are equipped with current tools, resources, and training to deliver high-quality services
  • Support staff in outreach, workshop facilitation, and case management activities
  • Contribute to team-wide initiatives that enhance cohesion and consistency across multiple service sites

Program Coordination and Service Delivery

  • Oversee the implementation of the Job Action Club program across Downtown and North York locations
  • Maintain a personal caseload of clients, providing one-on-one coaching and group facilitation
  • Support the development and execution of individualized job search action plans
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure alignment with funder requirements, organizational standards, and client needs
  • Ensure accurate documentation, data entry, and reporting in CRM and funder databases
  • Write reports for funders
  • Participate in program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives with potential cross-regional application

Stakeholder Engagement and Community Collaboration

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, community partners, and service providers to enhance client outcomes
  • Represent Achēv in local networks and forums focused on employment and workforce development
  • Promote awareness of Achēv’s services and advocate for inclusive hiring practices
  • Lead outreach and marketing efforts to recruit program participants

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze program data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead initiatives to enhance service accessibility, efficiency, and impact
  • Stay informed of labour market trends, policy changes, and best practices in employment services
  • Collaborate with leadership on broader service strategies that may inform future program expansion

Qualifications And Skills

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., Social Services, Career Development, Education, Business)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in employment services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or coordination role
  • Previous experience working with Ontario Works recipients, low income and clients with multiple barriers or experiencing under-employment
  • Experience facilitating workshops, coaching clients, and managing caseloads
  • Proven ability to supervise staff, manage projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms, data management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including newcomers, youth, and equity-deserving groups
  • Demonstrated interest in contributing to broader organizational initiatives and service integration
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or across multiple locations as needed
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel across the GTA
