The Opportunity

Aviva’s Personal Insurance Team is seeking a highly motivated Product Manager to drive the development and management of our Specialty Products portfolio. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of product management, development, and transformation, supporting both broker and direct distribution channels. The ideal candidate will ensure our products are consistently aligned and adaptable across all channels, while leading key initiatives and maintaining a robust risk and control framework.

What you’ll do:

  • Management of a robust technical product strategy that supports overall business objectives
  • Manage the product value proposition end-to-end, delivering on all business KPIs including profitability, growth and customer experience
  • Work with MGAs and Distribution to promote the Lifestyle product value proposition to key Brokers via training, communications, and business planning
  • Support the larger Specialty ecosystem by performing analyses, developing initiatives, and driving actions working closely with Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, Systems, Operations and Distribution
  • Act as a Product lead for the PI transformation, supporting the overall product strategy working with key partners internally across Aviva and externally with partners
  • Work within Aviva’s product governance framework to support optimization and simplification of existing products, while bringing a sound risk management mindset
  • Assess competitive information by proactively keeping on top of the latest customer, industry and competitive trends
  • Actively lead and influence indirect reports and partners to meet timelines and objectives that best support the business strategy
  • Track benefits and impact post-deployment analysis
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with various internal/external parties
  • Work with Marketing to develop marketing plans, communications and other initiatives to achieve business objectives
  • Relentlessly focus on customer needs and trends, ensuring we are serving our customer needs, treating customers fairly and having customers at the core of all our activities
  • Contribute to monthly insights and performance management of financial performance

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or College Diploma in Business; an advanced degree or professional designation is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 yrs. experience in the Property and Casualty business (emphasis on Specialty Personal related products is an asset) including an understanding of the P&C regulatory environment
  • 2 years of Product Management and Project Management (i.e. executed large projects/initiatives)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large and complex initiatives with measurable outcomes and success metrics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technical underwriting practices and the associated regulatory landscape.
  • In-depth knowledge of underwriting, product development, and claims operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, adept at evaluating quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making.
  • Proven ability to distill and present key insights and actionable recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Ability to independently conduct research and engage external partners to evaluate and capitalize on product opportunities.

What you’ll get:

  • The salary band for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
