Trusted by leading market research agencies and brands, Fathom unlocks valuable insights from open-ended survey responses and customer feedback with precision, accuracy, and speed.
About the Role
We’re looking for a curious, ambitious, jump-in-with-both-feet kind of person to support marketing. This is a part-time, paid internship where your primary focus will be content and SEO, but with the opportunity to get hands-on with pretty much all things marketing, including campaign planning, conference logistics, webinars, ads, social media, CRM management, lead funnel management, and more. You’ll walk away with a case study and some concrete performance metrics for your CV.
About You
You’re all in on marketing and you thrive in a startup environment - where goals are clear, support is strong, and you’ve got a ton of latitude to experiment in order to achieve results. You’ve got a solid foundation in marketing fundamentals and some experience applying your skills - either in content and social, SEO, lead gen or all three - but your biggest asset is your can-do attitude, determination to succeed, and desire to contribute and learn.
Responsibilities
- Content: Write and optimize content, case study, and campaign production. Use video and graphics tools to iterate on core content to support multi-channel. (Canva, Squarspace, Capcut, Youtube, Google Notebook, etc)
- SEO: Evaluate SEO and continuously work on improving using tools. (SemRush, Google Analytics, etc)
- Webinar & Event Support : Assist with planning, logistics, promotion, and follow-up (Trello, Zoom, Youtube, LinkedIn, Hubspot, etc)
- Social Media : Support scheduling and content creation across platforms (LinkedIn, Youtube, opportunity to expand if it’s strategic)
- Lead Gen & Management : Help manage CRM workflows, lead scoring, website updates, list generation, intelligence augmentation. (Hubspot, SemRush, Google Analytics, Apollo, SmartLead, Clay, etc)
- Marketing Operations : Track performance metrics, organize assets, and support team execution across channels. (Trello, Google Analytics, etc)
- Website: Update website to align with SEO strategy and product strategy. Build on web traffic conversion strategy (Squarespace, Google Analytics, etc)
Qualifications
- Experience creating really good marketing content (written, graphic and video)
- You like figuring things out, and appreciate clear goals and direction
- You love optimizing lean marketing systems with outsized performance
- You’re organized, self-motivated, and not afraid to ask questions
- You’re a clear communicator who enjoys collaborating remotely
- This role is co-funded by a grant and intended for students, so certain conditions apply - including active enrolment in a Canadian university or college for the entire duration of the internship
Nice-to-have (totally fine if you don’t have them all)
- You’ve dabbled in content, SEO, or social (maybe all three!)
- Experience with marketing automation tools and AI workflows
- You’ve played with tools like Apollo, Hubspot, Google Analytics, SemRush
- Familiarity with performance marketing or lead generation strategies and tools
- A meme folder that’s always ready to go
Compensation
This is a part-time, fixed term, employee position for 11 weeks starting from mid September with the potential to continue until the end of March.
- CAD $20–22/hour, depending on experience
- Real ownership of projects + real results to show for it
- Mentorship from a smart, kind, and slightly nerdy team
- Remote flexibility (work from anywhere in Canada)
- Potential to extend beyond the fall if it’s a great fit
