About the role
Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, the P&C Coordinator is responsible for the accurate delivery and coordination of payroll while providing essential administrative support across People & Culture and HR systems. This role oversees payroll processing, maintains HRIS records, administers benefits and ensures a welcoming onboarding experience for new team members. The P&C Coordinator contributes to smooth, people-centered operations that uphold YW Calgary’s mission, vison and values.
This is a full‑time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- After completing payroll training, independently run regular payroll cycles by accurately collecting, validating, and processing employee data
- Support ongoing payroll coordination, including managing payroll schedules, completing audits and reconciliations, resolving issues, and preparing routine reports
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, including new hires, role changes, and terminations, after receiving system and payroll training.
- Ensure payroll data integrity by monitoring system accuracy and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner once trained on payroll controls and processes
- Coordinate new hire processes, including documentation, system access, and employee file setup
- Prepare, update, and maintain HR documents, letters, and templates
- Organize and maintain confidential digital employee records in alignment with privacy and retention requirements
- Support offboarding processes, including documentation, system updates, and final payroll coordination
- Administer employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations
- Act arts a primary point of contact for basic employee benefit inquiries, escalating complex issues as needed
- Maintain accurate benefits records and support reporting and reconciliation activities
- Coordinate and deliver new hire orientation sessions
- Prepare and support people, payroll, and compliance‑related reports as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Up to 2 years of experience in a payroll and/or Human Resources administrative role
- Comfort working with the Microsoft Suite as well as across multiple systems and software platforms
- Strong attention to detail, organization and follow through
- Ability to manage administrative tasks, meet deadlines and maintain data integrity

- Organized, dependable and detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with care, discretion and professionalism
- Previous payroll experience is an asset
- Interest in pursuing payroll certification
