Senior Accountant
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join their finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the full accounting cycle while partnering with operational leaders to provide meaningful financial insights that support business decisions. What You'll Do
As the Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial reporting while supporting business performance.
Responsibilities include:
Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, general ledger, inventory accounting, cost of sales, revenue recognition, and reconciliations. Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, analyze variances, and present financial results to operational leadership and corporate finance. Oversee monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation processes within SAP, ensuring accurate inventory reporting. Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities while meeting reporting deadlines. Coordinate external audit requirements and assist with year-end tax reporting and regulatory filings. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and internal control requirements. Analyze financial results and identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting accuracy, and overall business performance. Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending efficiencies in financial systems and workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support operational decision-making. Participate in special projects and provide financial analysis as business needs evolve.
What You Bring
CPA designation (required). Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience preparing financial statements and managing the month-end close process. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience supporting year-end audits and tax reporting. Advanced knowledge of SAP FI/CO. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; PowerPoint experience is considered an asset. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Experience in commercial construction, equipment rental, manufacturing, or industrial environments is considered an asset.
