WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Education:
-
Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science.
Core experience:
-
Must have 7+ years of broad full-stack experience developing web applications.
-
Should have 5+ years of experience working with Java-based backends and enterprise-level technologies. Experience with Groovy, Grails, Spring is a bonus.
-
Should have 5+ years of experience working with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Less/Sass. Experience with Node.js and JavaScript frameworks is a bonus.
-
Should have 3+ years of experience working with relational databases.
-
Experience with Hibernate, PostgreSQL, Liquibase is a bonus.
-
Should have 3+ years of experience working with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFront, Lambda, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, as well as experience with Linux-based systems and their command line.

Should have 3+ years of experience working with DevOps tools such as Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Serverless Framework.

Should have 1+ years of experience successfully using AI tools to increase productivity. Experience with developing custom AI tools or features is a bonus.
Additional experience and knowledge:

Should have a solid understanding of software and system design principles.
-
Should have hands-on experience designing and developing complex systems from scratch in a small team or solo. Experience leading such projects is a bonus.

Should have hands-on experience designing and developing products that solve real problems or working in direct collaboration with product managers.

Should have at least some understanding of personal finance. For example, types of investment accounts, time value of money, basic income tax principles. Doing own planning, budgeting, accounting, or tax returns is a bonus.

Must be comfortable with mathematics and extensive numerical calculations. For example, should be able to solve optimization problems, apply numerical methods, understand basics of probability theory.

Should have extensive experience reviewing other people's code and providing constructive feedback.

Should have a strong understanding of testing frameworks and practices.

Experience with Spock or Geb is a bonus.

Should have a strong understanding of secure development practices.
Soft skills and other:

Self-motivated and passionate about programming.

Strong track record of achievements and high performance.

Strong work ethic and self-discipline to work effectively in a fully remote environment.

Excellent communication skills. For example, a strong ability to explain complex ideas clearly, think out loud when necessary, and communicate with high density.

Ability to learn and work quickly while keeping errors to a minimum. Focus on both productivity and quality is critical.

Strong analytical abilities. Always thinking logically and methodically.

Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar code and effectively solve problems in unfamiliar areas.

Excellent memory and the ability to retain large amounts of information for long periods, e.g. when learning codebases and internal processes.

Strong organizational skills. For example, always keeping physical and digital workspaces in order and keeping the code clean even during development.

Ability to multitask and get things done within self-imposed and external deadlines.

Ability to work independently and ask good questions when necessary.
