We’re Hiring!

We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Janitor Lead in our Janitorial Department at our Leamington ON Farms facility.

What You'll Do (Job Specific Tasks):

  • Lead the Janitorial team for the farm:
    • Approve/deny employee time off, expense reports and timecards within deadlines required to ensure smooth completion of payroll.
    • Manage employee time off/schedules to ensure full coverage of the department.
    • Collaborate with HR Recruiter and HR Generalist for employee relations and incidents.
    • Collaborate with Recruiter for performance review process for the Janitorial team members.
    • Works closely with their team, ensures they receive the training and coaching required to succeed in the position.
    • Review daily Provision form responses ensuring any flagged areas are addressed and forms are completed correctly.
    • Review monthly Provision report to ensure that monthly tasks are completed correctly,
    • Complete monthly inspections of each location.
    • Inform relevant departments of any Health and Safety, Food Safety, Maintenance, and Biosecurity concerns.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in common areas throughout the buildings; offices, boardrooms, washrooms, kitchens, greenhouse lunchrooms, greenhouse washrooms, warehouse lunchrooms, warehouse washrooms, and entrances.
  • Clean dishes, counters, all surfaces, chairs, windows, doors, appliances, walls, empty garbage cans/recycle bins, sweep and mop floors.
  • Report problems/work orders that require attention to Supervisor.
  • Maintain an organized workspace in the janitorial closet including the janitorial cart.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning must be completed according to the Provision Checklist.
  • Order/restock kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies.
  • Enter and submit all cleaning duties on the Provision Checklist daily.
  • Participate in meetings/training sessions regarding changes to the cleaning standards and processes and company policies and procedures.
  • Follow OHSA guidelines for handling chemicals and use of proper protective equipment as required for daily duties.
  • Stock PPE stations each day including visitor PPE kits. Order PPE as needed.
  • Keep Cintas inventory up to date on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all cleaning supplies are labeled correctly according to the area they are used.
  • Assist with cleaning additional locations when required to cover absences.
  • Must comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.

What You Bring (Qualifications):

  • Knowledge of technology is required.
  • Experience leading a team is an asset.
  • Janitorial experience is an asset.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
  • Reading, communication, and attention to detail are important to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and use of personal vehicle are required.

What To Expect (Working Conditions & Physical Requirements):

  • Required to report to work Monday-Friday 5:00AM – Finish, with rotational Saturdays. End times will vary but the shift is usually approximately 5-6 hours with afterhours when required.
  • Will be required to travel from location to location.
  • Exposure to irritants: cleaning detergents, dust, dirt, biologicals
  • The greenhouse may be hot, wet, humid, or cold at any time during the year. There may also be pests i.e. bees
  • Work setting - walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, crouching, lifting, and stretching.
  • Due to the nature of janitorial work, candidates with allergies or sensitivities may have a difficult time with tasks.
  • Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
