Primary Duties

The Utilities Kingston Board of Directors provides strategic direction, risk management and governance to the corporation. Suitable candidates for this position will be able to demonstrate experience with Information and/or Operational Technology, Cyber Security, Engineering or Legal experience.

Ideally the candidate will possess previous and applicable Governance/Director experience and will be able to speak to their experience and understanding of the Business Corporations Act (Ontario). A Director Designation and prior board experience with a private or public corporation is an asset.

Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required

In addition to the above, experience in the following competencies would be considered an asset:

• Engineering

• Utility Operations

• Human Resources experience including Health and Safety

• Enterprise Risk Management

• Mergers and Acquisitions

• Business acumen

The Utilities Kingston Board meets approximately five (5) times per year. The Utilities Kingston board of directors is appointed annually at the Annual General Meeting of the Shareholder. All directors shall hold office for a term of four years to a maximum of three terms or twelve years. Incumbent directors, if qualified, shall be eligible for re-election.
