Job Summary:
The Crew Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Crew Scheduling department, ensuring compliance with company policies, government regulations, and industry best practices. This role provides leadership, guidance, and support to Crew Schedulers while ensuring efficient and effective crew scheduling to meet operational demands. The Supervisor also plays a key role in managing irregular operations (IROPs), coordinating with multiple departments, and maintaining a seamless workflow.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Crew Scheduling department to ensure compliance with company policies (FOAG) and regulatory requirements (CARs).
- Oversee “month of” crew scheduling adjustments, including book-off tracking, coordination with Aircraft Scheduling and Flight Operations teams, and pilot line training plans.
- Represent the Crew Scheduling department in operational meetings and coordinate with other departments as required.
- Support operations during irregular operations (IROPs), making real-time scheduling adjustments and communicating impacts to the Duty Officer and other stakeholders.
- Lead recruitment efforts, including interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new Crew Schedulers.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Crew Schedulers, including performance evaluations, feedback, disciplinary actions, and training for new hires.
- Maintain and update monthly crew scheduling staff schedules, including shift coverage, vacation planning, and sick accruals to ensure adequate staffing.
- Investigate and resolve crew inquiries, complaints, and payroll disputes while ensuring accurate Flight crew payroll submission.
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents and promoting the company’s Safety Policy.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Crew Scheduler or Planner.
- Proficient in Navblue N-OC Crew Management Software.
- Strong knowledge of CARs crewing regulations and Porter’s FOAG.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess potential solutions, and maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
- Understanding of systems thinking, recognizing how decisions impact other areas of the organization and effectively managing those impacts.
- Advanced computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and navigate new software.
- Flexible schedule with availability for shift work, overtime, and irregular hours as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to maintain professionalism and assertiveness.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive working relationships.
- Proven experience supervising and leading a team effectively.
